Smoking and Weight Loss

For anyone that has smoked and tried to give up you’ll understand just how hard it is, for some it will probably be the single hardest thing you might attempt in your adult life. Many people when giving up the habit tend to substitute cigarettes with food – this is when the problems start.

overweight-manReplacing the cravings for cigarette smoke with food can get so bad it seems easier to pick up the cigarette packet again and put down that tasy treat. Don’t! You will regret this, smoking may seem the lesser of two evils as weight gain obviously is easier to spot on a person than the internal damage of inhaling cigarette smoke.

Some good tips are to write down what you are eating each day, when you look back over your list you can easily identify any bad eating habits you have picked-up since quitting the cigarettes.

Take regular exercise, even walking to the shops, take the dog or the kids out to the park this will boost your metabolism, increase your muscle tone and make you feel fitter.

Once you have been walking for a bit and do feel fitter, try some other types of fitness regime, swimming and cycling are excellent ways to increase your weight loss.

Some people may find this all too much and continue to eat … don’t dishearten there are products on the market to help you, weight loss tablets have come a long way in the last few years and will suppress your craving for food, not only tablets but wraps and slendertone machines all these products are great and do work, and with a little exercise you will soon be down to your ideal weight without being addicted to the dreaded tobacco as well.
