It can all be very confusing when looking for the correct product to suit your needs. Buying over the internet can be very convenient and does save you a lot of time and money, but there are a lot of people out there that just want to take your hard earned cash.

When you buy goods over the internet from a UK based company, you have the same rights as if you had bought them from a shop, but be careful as companies from Europe can buy .co.uk web sites, then it would be very difficult to get any money back. Just because the website looks great it does not mean it is legal.

If your purchase is over £100 it may be worth paying for it with your credit card as you may be protected by the Consumer Credit Act, this act protects your money. When paying money to the company look for the small padlock at the bottom of the screen (this means the site is secure) it would worth taking the companies telephone number, address and post code, this will come in handy if anything should go wrong.

Using your common sense when purchasing goods over the internet could save you time and money. Remember if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.
