Australian tax payers are in an uproar after it was revealed that 32,000 Australian dollars was spent in a 6 months period as 100 employees of the Department of Defence were placed on a weight loss program. Another 30,000 dollars was spent on other civil servant departments as they were deemed ‘to fat to work’. The information which was published online as a requirement of the Australian Federal Government is said to be misleading as it was listed under the category of Education and Training.

In a recent study taken by 5,500 UK school children has indicated that kids who eat fastfood takeaways such as burger and chips at least 3 times a week achieve lower scores in school tests. The survey claims that no matter the race, weight and parental income the findings are the same, fast food takeaway’s dumb down the kids’ learning abilities.

For anyone new to this blog, the brief rundown is I’m a fella nearly touching forty who has decided that it is time to do something about my middle-age spread. Since this blog started, I have been through the motions, trying various things to help ease the burden around my waist. I have walked on occassion to my office and back. Bought and broke a bike. Cut down on my alchohol intake. Tried to eat responsibly. Even after a recent visit to the Doctors, was I still told that I had to undergo a major lifestyle change to avoid future health issues brought about by my weight.
